Time Saving Tip: Kitchen Scale Postal
Tip Tuesday – Mom Wisdom
What’s the Problem?
Errands are a major time suck.
If you have small children, they can also be pure torture (the errands not the children).
At the top of my least favorite chores in the world, are trips to the post office.
Long lines for one measly check on my to-do list is not a good trade.
There’s a solution.
Most home mailing tasks can be managed from your kitchen – with the help of a digital kitchen scale you may already own.
Weigh your envelope or small package. Note the ounces (this is the US., the post office works in ounces)
Check the USPS website to see how much postage you need.
Paste on the stamps (which you can also buy online) and pop it in your mailbox.
You can order beautiful stamps by mail. The cute ones cost the same as the boring ones, so why not add a little verve to your life?
Children love to weigh things, put on stamps and “do mail.” I see a learning opportunity here.
Once you own a digital scale, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. Use it when you bake, and your cooking skill will increase overnight.
