2018 Reading Challenges
Since I’m an Obliger (thanks Gretchen Rubin’s Four Tendencies) I decided to add a little outside accountability to my goals by joining book challenges.
Here is a list of all the challenges I’m tackling this year. Each challenge also has it’s own page where I list/annotate/review the books I’m reading.
To promote massive reading on a broad scale I added a few category style challenges.
My all-time favorite challenge is
A few topic specific challenges:
The mystery stacks…I’ve been working on a novel. This is a new pursuit for me, just for fun. About half way into the rough draft I realized I needed more knowledge about the structure of mystery novels – what works and why.

On my travel blog, Jaunty Everywhere, I signed up for a few travel specific reading challenges.
2018 Literary Escapes Challenge
2018 European Reading Challenge
Literary Voyage Around the World Reading Challenge 2018
Laughter Love Challenge: One Author, One Year
Yes, that’s a lot of reading challenges. About 200 books worth.
Here’s to less TV and more reading in 2018.
